ABSTRACT

Humanism, as a scientific, philosophical, and ethical eupraxophy, is unique in the world today, for it takes the preservation and enhancement of the human species as its ultimate concern. A new global economic order based on the ethics of economic cooperation needs to emerge. The basic premise of this global ethic is that each of a stake in developing a universal moral awareness, each of a responsibility to the world community at large. The ethical principles embody the collective heritage of humankind. The beginnings of a new global ethic are evident. Universal declarations of human rights enunciate the rights of all human beings. Underlying political and economic problems is the more basic imperative to develop a worldwide ethical awareness of the mutual interdependence. The continued disparities in economic wealth between various portions of the globe are immoral. Economic relations are such that the large corporations are multinational in scope.
