July 16 I doubt that I shall ever marry, but if all else fails there’s always Mr Titmarch. He may not be as suitable as some, (a bank clerk is not of much consequence) but Mr Titmarch would, I do believe, be somewhat of an interesting man. I don’t know why I say this; there is just something in his manner that attracts.
