ABSTRACT
THIS BOOK could not have been completed without the help of many persons. The details of the story were scattered; early accounts were full of conflicting or simply erroneous mentions of time, place, identification, and spelling. The sheer volume of detail seemed overwhelming. Without extraordinary assistance, I would have had to give up.
