ABSTRACT
This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book looks at the incredible positive transformation that world is about to experience, the exponential growth anticipated by only a few but sure to be welcomed by all. It not only discusses these incipient changes, but explores those actions we all must take in order to ensure a smooth transition into the next era. In the Macroindustrial Era, we witnesses the miracle of the species finally eliminating the scarcity that has plagued it since time immemorial. The Macroindustrial Era represents growth in the areas of both technology and human development, a natural stage in the evolution of the species' continued extension of its control over itself and its environment. Most nations have become unwilling to further drill for oil off their shores, effectively mandating a reduction in the amount of oil available to a growing Macroindustrial Era society.
