ABSTRACT

This chapter explores unique methods countries that are adopting to create the skills in all areas—engineering, science, even reading, writing, and simple computation. It reveals the remarkable advances that are at hand for educating individuals and cultivating the talents necessary to succeed in the Macroindustrial Era. The major mission of the educational system should be to prepare individuals for the complex scientific jobs, managerial and academic/teaching positions that will be required to help societies and nations adjust to the emerging sociological epoch. Computer-based training is increasingly used to raise the knowledge level of students, managers, and technicians, revolutionizing the way people learn both in and out of school. If cultural forces conspire to encourage simplistic thinking and low literacy levels, any attempt to educate children and make them value education is like forcing them to swim without life jackets in a sea of mediocrity.
