ABSTRACT

Resorts International was a Tradewinds’ preoccupation. Resorts International, seeking New Jersey approval for a casino license, tried hard to distance itself from cartel associates like Frankel, downplaying as much as possible the Cornfeld connection. The Bridge company’s major officers were Crosby, Davis, and Murphy from Resorts, and Hans Ulrich Rinderknecht from Zurich, Switzerland. Cosmos Bank and Resorts were brought together by C. Gerald Goldsmith, described by Crosby as a man around town involved in Freeport. Resorts International had a predilection for funny-money often connected to organized crime associates. It also had a preoccupation with corporate security. With London out, Resorts International found it imperative to keep Eddie in The Bahamas. Eddie Cellini was affiliated with several junket operations while he worked for Resorts International. His junket partners included old-time book-makers and members of organized crime syndicates.
