ABSTRACT

In February, 2007, the United Nations climate commission submitted a shocking report: about 500 experts forecast gigantic hurricanes, a signifi cant rise in sea levels, and periods of extreme drought due to global warming. They also underlined, more clearly than ever before, the extent to which man is responsible for these dramatic developments. Since then, the subject of climate change has been a major talking point. Specialists are not the only people who agree that this will be one of the most important subjects over the coming years, along with an ageing population and globalisation.
