ABSTRACT
The long-awaited arrival of the Americans and the resultant end of the war have so far brought only disappointment. For the time being there is no end of the war in sight and the presence of the “Allies” has not yet brought either peace or quiet. Four Americans appeared at our place and they were joined by our friends, the French prisoners, and the Russians who had hidden these last days in the kitchen building.
