ABSTRACT
The Willink Report was never made public and even if it had been, at Huyton College we would have been as protected from its findings as we were at home. My housemistress carefully examined each morning’s copy of the Liverpool Daily Post and cut out every story and article that was considered unsuitable for our eyes in our small, Pymlike enclave. I was therefore very grateful when, in the summer of 1993, I was given permission by the college Principal, Professor Kenneth Morgan, and the Registrar, Daniel Gruffydd Jones, to read the report.
