ABSTRACT
I dedicate this true story to my best and dearest friends - Heniek Pienta, Tadek Banaszek, Daniel Mucha and Wacek Koziol. I spent a happy childhood with them in Poland before the war until, as 15-year-old boys, we were taken from our homes in Lodz to work as slaves 1 in the Hermann Goering tank factory in Linz, Austria 2 . My friends did not survive the subsequent terrible hardships and atrocities.
