ABSTRACT

Postmodernism as an attitude is a reflection of the development of the reality of a worldwide culture, but the distinctive aspect of the human species is that it can reflect on its circumstances and understand them. Postmodern ethics is concerned with the relations between people and among cultures and its primary value in this regard is tolerance, that is, the full acceptance of individuals as members of groups to which no negative stereotype or prejudicial characteristic is attached. Science as well as religion has come under direct attack in the postmodern world because of its assertion, defined that the scientific method is a sure way to obtain truth conflicts with the epistemological relativism which is an essential element of the postmodern worldview. One aspect of the postmodern context is the general idea that such things as gender roles or scientific laws are not real in themselves but instead are social constructs which are, in effect, artificial, intellectual, and social structures.
