ABSTRACT

I published a book in 1994 that relates certain episodes of the war that took place in a canton of the district of Ain, the canton of Saint-Rambert-en-Bugey. For the book I interviewed a large number of participants, including thirty members of the underground, and I had in hand documents that were written at the time of the events. It is these accounts that I would like to tell you about today because they perfectly illustrate that “unrecognized resistance” that then existed.
