ABSTRACT
Biography-writing is a distinct literary form, a craft as well as an art. The biographer’s aim should be evocative—to bring to life and revive people and places long since extinct. Although ours may be a time which seems often excessively present-oriented, biography-reading has become part of our popular culture.
