ABSTRACT

The law of evolution can be traced in all social phenomena, beginning with language, which, coming from one common root, changes into newer and newer forms through gradual differentiation and integration. Every custom has its own history in which it is likewise not difficult to find manifestations of the law of evolution. In a word, evolution, representing the development of new forms, is essentially a creative act, and the law of evolution is in essence a law of creation. Evolution can be traced in any social process, even in the mood of the masses, which, originating as an almost invisible spark, gradually gains strength and reaches its apogee. Since the law of evolution is common to all social movements, it is understandable that every social movement, wherever it is manifested, undergoes the same stages of development. In general, investigations into the law of evolution of social conditions and the development of civilization find extremely valuable material in ethnographic research.
