ABSTRACT

When the wife of an alcoholic has tried and failed to combat her husband's love affair with booze; when she finds herself cut off from most forms of social intercourse, denied sexual fulfillment and marital satisfaction, and at times the object of cruel remarks and brutal beatings during his alcoholic rages; when she finds herself in an increasing state of despair as all professional treatment attempts end in failure, she becomes ever more anxious and fear-ridden. She asks herself, "What is to become of me? What is happening to my life?"
