ABSTRACT

Confident athletes believe in their own ability, while less confident athletes often doubt their own ability to show their best performance. Hence, appropriate practice methods are needed to increase athletes’ confidence. This research aimed at investigating the effect of Brain Jogging exercise on athletes’ self-confidence. The research design chosen was one group pretest-posttest design. The population comprised soccer athletes from the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Student Activity Unit. Twenty samples were chosen using a non-probability sampling technique. They were given Brain Jogging as a biweekly treatment for 11 meetings. The evaluation instrument used in this study was The State Sport Confidence Inventory. The t-test was used to analyze the data. The results revealed that Brain Jogging exercise improved the athletes’ selfconfidence. Brain Jogging exercise is a psychological exercise method suitable for improving athletes’ self-confidence, especially soccer athletes.
