ABSTRACT

This research aimed to study and analyze the implications of the Thai government’s one tablet per child policy, and recommend guidelines and preventive measures for implications of educational populist policy in the future. This research implemented both qualitative and quantitative research; documentary research, focus group discussion by the Future Wheel method and cost-benefit analysis techniques, with a questionnaire and in-depth interviews being conducted. The key informants and respondents are 12 stakeholders from the one tablet per child policy, which has had some impact so far. The results revealed that the one tablet per child policy had negative impacts and low values. The preventive measures for implications of educational populist policy should promote the equity and equality in education for learning achievement and lifelong learning skills.
