ABSTRACT

Changes in science technology make the competition between schools more stringent, this condition requires every school has a competent teacher. Teacher pedagogic competence becomes one of the keys to success in facing change. This study aims to examine the relationship of authentic leadership with pedagogic competence of teachers and test the multidimensionality of authentic leadership constructs. This study employs a quantitative approach. Data are collected using the survey method. This method is used to obtain data from a natural setting; however, when collecting data using the survey from 225 participants, the researcher employed the questionnaire techniques. Data collected were analysed using multiple-regression techniques with the aid of Ms. Excel 2016, IBM SPSS Statistic 22.0. for Windows The results showed that authentic leadership underpins the pedagogic competency values of teachers significantly. This implies the importance of cultivating the values of authentic leadership that are multidimensional to the pedagogic character of the teacher.
