ABSTRACT

Entrepreneurship is concerned with business and innovation with regard to changing the prosperity status quo. From a macroeconomic perspective, the increasing number of educated entrepreneurs would make a significant contribution to the nation’s economic stability and growth. This study addresses the problem of the extent to which the Bandung city’s college male and female students intend to choose entrepreneurship as their career. Employing a survey method, the data from structured questionnaires of 360 sample students was analyzed by using percentage calculation and the contingency table of chi square. The result of the analysis indicates that only a limited number of the Bandung city’s college students, particularly female, had the intention of becoming entrepreneurs and only a small number of them had tended not to implement entrepreneurship. This study specifies the important need to promote entrepreneurship in the Bandung colleges by providing the students with entrepreneurship-related course.
