ABSTRACT

Science and technology in present day human civilization are moving at a rapid pace. The world of challenges and the vision to move forward are immense and far-reaching. The futuristic vision of applied mathematics and chemical process engineering today are surpassing visionary scientific frontiers. Genetic algorithm (GA) is a branch of applied mathematics that needs to be reenvisioned and restructured in today’s research pursuit in science and technology. Petroleum engineering science and chemical engineering are the two branches of scientific endeavor where there are massive applications of GA. GAs are also used in areas of multi-objective optimization which involves modeling, simulation, and optimization. In this treatise, the author rigorously points out toward the futuristic vision in the application of GA in different areas of engineering and science.
