ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT The direct methanol-air fuel cell seems to be a very suitable power source for an electrical vehicle under the conditions that the electroactivity of both the anode and cathode catalysts will be greatly improved. The nature of the ionomeric membrane is also a crucial point, because its properties toward methanol crossover have an important influence on the overall electric performances of the cell. This chapter discusses the actual investigations concerning the nature and the properties of the electrode materials.
