ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses sources and kinds of grants, a typical structure of a grant proposal, and guidelines for successful proposals. Nonetheless, in the interest of professionals in the field of gerontological human services. The structure or outline and the content of a grant proposal should be in compliance with the application requirement. Requirement for government grants and contracts may be different from those issued by private foundations; different government agencies require different proposal contents and different foundations do likewise. Continuous evaluation activities are an integral component of the service project, and thus most grantors require that an evaluation plan be included in the proposal. The process is not only to assist project managers and administrators to frequently review and assess the progress that the project has made, but also to reinforce staff efforts and heighten their decision making and morale.
