ABSTRACT

I would like to thank the Operations Evaluation Department (OED) for having given me the opportunity to come and present the case of my country, Tunisia.

Tunisia, as you know, is a relatively small country. We have 10 million inhabitants, and our per capita income is about US$2,000 right now. But before reaching this stage of development, Tunisia went through various stages. After its independence, Tunisia became a member of the World Bank. Our relations are excellent, and the dialogue is always of very high quality. This brought about a level of cooperation and commitment, as the Bank financed more than US$5 billion through approximately 121 loans.
