ABSTRACT
I f systems theory is to be of practical value, we must be able to proceed from general systems theory to the conceptual representation of individual systems. Our main concern will be with the representation of individual purposeful systems rather than with goal-seeking or multi-goal-seeking systems. We believe that only at this level can systems theory contribute to the core problems of psychology, sociology, and anthropology.
