ABSTRACT
We have considered decisions from the point of view of the lawyer and his client. We can now add to our realistic comprehension of the character of law by looking at decisions from the point of view of the judges who render them. As the word indicates, the judge in reaching a decision is making a judgment. And if we would understand what goes into the creating of that judgment, we must observe how ordinary men dealing with ordinary affairs arrive at their judgments.
