ABSTRACT
THIS chapter examines characteristics of the Valley Bisa hunting system as it was observed to operate during 1966--67. It considers hunters both as individuals in terms of their respective ranks and their general contributions to the meat supply oflocal residents, and as a group in their interactions while in search of prey within the various habitats. In order to do this, we integrate materials assembled in Part II on the ideology of hunters and within the previous two chapters.
