ABSTRACT
I ARRIVED in Zambia on 17 June 1966 and spent the subsequent three weeks in Lusaka making contacts with officials, gathering firsthand accounts of the study area, and in general acquiring the necessary supplies and information for the journey into the Munyamadzi Corridor (see map, p. 2).
