ABSTRACT
The preceding chapters analyzed the major factors governments have considered in setting up their housing allowance systems. This chapter examines two broad formulas from which housing allowance systems may choose, and then summarizes the formulas that governments have adopted for calculating their housing allowances. The notation systems used in the national formulas have been simplified and converted to a uniform notation system to facilitate the reader in comparing the basic principles applied in the various formulas.
