Both the Redfields and the Taxes were once again in the field during the sixth and final season of the Carnegie Institution's ethnological research in Guatemala. The Redfields went again to Agua Escondida, while the Taxes returned to Panajachel. As in earlier seasons when they were in the field together, dur ing this field season the families grew increasingly close, exchanging small gifts of food and other goods.
