Comparative Politics Comparat ive po l i t i c s seeks t o discover regularit ies and variat ions o f p o l i t i c a l o rganiza t ion b y comparat ive analysis o f h i s to r ica l and con t empora ry systems. Having isolated these regularit ies and var i ­ at ions, i t seeks t o de termine the factors w h i c h under l ie t h e m , i n order to discover the proper t ies and cond i t ions o f po l i t i es o f va ry ing types. I t t h e n seeks t o reduce these observations t o a series o f in te rconnec ted p ropos i t ions applicable to al l these systems i n b o t h static and changing cond i t ions .
