ABSTRACT

Floor mosaics form a signifi cant part of Turkey’s archaeological heritage and are often discovered during long-term scientifi c excavations, as well as rescue projects carried out by state museums. However, it is not diffi cult to predict that many others still wait to be discovered, at many signifi cant ancient sites (e.g. Pergamon, Aphrodisias, Sardis, Sagalassos, Arykanda, Erythrai, Ephesus, Zeugma) where archaeological research still continues.
