ABSTRACT

From a generalized concept of universal and uniform human rights inhering in every human being like the right to life, right to liberty, right to the pursuit of happiness, right to equality before the law, etc. we have graduated to the concept of the human rights of different categories of people like the rights of women, the rights of children, the rights of ethnic minorities and indigenous people and, in the case of India, the human rights of Dalits, the human rights of Adivasis and the human rights of the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes of people and human rights in different areas like rights of the underprivileged and aspirational youth to development, human right to dignity, human right to shelter, human right to livelihood etc.
