ABSTRACT

Although the WLAN is the most important standard, it is by no means the only one in wireless communication. Another communication standard for small distances is Bluetooth.

In this chapter initially the technical basics such as protocols and system topologies are dealt with. Then procedures concerning implementation and configuration are discussed. After this the security aspects come into play. These security aspects deal with existing security features, risk potentials and possible countermeasures. In the end current developments and the future of this technology are touched upon.
