Child wellbeing – contested views

This chapter explores differing constructions of child wellbeing and critically examines whose voices and perspectives have been included and excluded from current ways of conceptualising and practicing within the field of early childhood. Using a sociological lens it engages the reader in investigating both objective and subjective measures of the wellbeing of young children. It explores young children’s experiences and understandings of wellbeing within their own social contexts.
