ABSTRACT

A variety of tumors can occur in different parts of the ear, including the outer ear, the middle ear, the inner ear and the temporal bone. Based on their pathological behavior, primary tumors of the ear are differentiated into malignant and benign categories. Structurally, the ear can be divided into the outer ear, the middle ear, the inner ear, and the temporal bone. Rick factors for ear tumors include exposure to sun, radiotherapy, certain industrial chemicals and oils, a history of chronic ear infections, a tumor near the ear, cutaneous immunosuppression, transmission through inheritance, and genetic mutations. Patients suspected of ear tumors are examined for ulcers, mass lesions, soft tissue swelling or induration, old scars, otorrhea, facial weakness, and hearing loss. The main treatments for ear tumors are surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. In general, patients with lower grades/stages of ear tumors have better prognosis than those with higher grades/stages.
