ABSTRACT
In Chapter 7, we reflect on Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL), positioning and interpersonal behavioural concepts. As a researcher, you have to explain why you discarded other strategies and why the particular plan used was best for your project. The chapter also encourages researchers to think about the types of problems they might face in their projects. Chapter 7 has activities that enable the researcher to gauge his/her readiness to conduct a project involving talk data collection. By the time you finish this chapter, you will know if strategies for analysing talk based on SFL, positioning and interpersonal behavioural theories are best for addressing your research questions.
