ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the print output process. The most popular desktop printers are inkjets. The A4 models are very affordable and can be just as good as the large format, high-end inkjets. The Photoshop print workflow is designed to make the print process more consistent between operating systems, as well as more repeatable. The operating system Page Setup option is accessed solely within the Photoshop Print dialog via the Print Settings button, from where people can manage all the remaining operating system print driver settings. Relative Colorimetric is best for general printing as this will preserve most of the original colors. Perceptual is a good option to choose when printing an image where it is important to preserve the detail in saturated color areas, when a photo that has a lot of deep shadows, or people are printing to a smaller gamut output space, such as a fine-art matte paper.
