ABSTRACT

Moments of moral breakdown provide windows for the anthropological assessment of the nature of morality as both an individual and social process. The evolving anthropological discourse on morality is useful in building a nuanced understanding of Bruce Gould's moral experience as well as his commitment to social medicine and his willingness to do battle on behalf of the well-being of the poor. Role models are known to have a strong influence on the career choices of medical students, and students report receiving counseling and advice on their career directions from those they identify as their role models. From the perspective of medical students, a potential mentor's personality, clinical skills, competence, and teaching ability have all been found to be important. Training and support provided by practice transformation network include furnishing information through an online portal, making available skill-building coaching and feedback, and supplying skilled intervention to help primary care practitioners to assist patients to achieve their health and quality-of-life goals.
