ABSTRACT

Differentiation is a well-used ‘buzz-word’ within education – this chapter begins with explaining what the term means, and how it is essential within teaching PE. The concept has been split into three categories; Task, process and outcome – with each category being defined and supported with practical examples for application within lessons and planning. Supporting the needs of individual classes and students has been made explicit within this chapter, and references have been made to individual learning styles and how to use information regarding students effectively within our plans to teach.
