ABSTRACT

The integration of the Shadow requires inventiveness and daring; it is a mercurian game in which what is desirable does not always come out as good and where evil is unavoidable. The main goal of all Shadow-work is to arrive to what from now on will be called the integration of the Shadow. The unconscious communicates through imagery, rather than through words, and therefore being acquainted with how metaphors shape our thinking and in turn our behaviour is part of any Shadow curriculum. The empirical aspect of this research confirmed that the unconscious lies at a preverbal realm and therefore communicates mainly through nonverbal channels. This is important due to the current dominance of text, speech, and discourse, that is, the verbal level, in project management practice. The Shadow serves different purposes when it functions as a metaphor, an allegory, or an archetype.
