ABSTRACT

Karl Marx was born at Treves in Rhenish Prussia. In the University of Berlin Marx threw himself with tremendous intensity into the study of the classics in Latin and Greek, philosophy, law, history, literature and art. The modern bourgeois Society that has sprouted from the ruins of feudal society, has not done away with class antagonisms. The Communists are distinguished from the other working class parties by this only: In the national struggles of the proletarians of the different countries, they point out the entire proletariat independently of all nationality. In the various stages of development which the struggle of the working class against the bourgeoisie has to pass through, they always represent the interests of the movement as a whole. The Communists fight for the attainment of the immediate aims; but in the movement of the present, they also represent and take care of the future of that movement.
