ABSTRACT

The generic name honors the Northern Irish botanist and biochemist Dr. Hugh Shaw MacKee (1912–1995) and his wife, Margaret E. Mackee, palm collectors in New Caledonia, travellers in Australasia, Belize, Mexico and Pacific region, he was co-editor of the Flore de la Nouvelle-Calédonie (published by the Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle, Paris) from 1983, see Compt.
