ABSTRACT

Essential trace minerals for cows and sheep include zinc, copper, manganese, iron, iodine, cobalt, and selenium. However, the amount of these minerals in livestock feed changes depending on the soil and natural environments of the country. Japanese soil contains a sufficient amount of iodine. However, in Western countries, iodine compounds such as sodium iodide, potassium iodate, and ethylenediamine dihydroiodide (EDDI) are used as livestock feed additives. Iodine-based sterilizers used before and after milking. Care is given to avoid residual iodine in milk. Ioxynil is a widely used herbicide developed in 1963 by May & Baker to spray annual broad-leaved weeds such as chickweed, henbit, and shepherd's purse when growing monocotyledons such as wheat variety, corn, and onions. Iodine sterilizers are effective against powdery mildew at low doses. Iodine-based agricultural chemicals prevent diseases in vegetables and fruits. Iodine sterilization system is becoming popular in agriculture fields.
