ABSTRACT
When calculating probabilities, you are using data that is gathered and processed by statistics. In this chapter, the basics of descriptive statistics are explained together with the reasons why you should not use inferential statistics in safety management. All the necessary statistics definitions and formulas are given and explained. In addition, the meaning of context (as the most important thing in statistics!) is explained.
