ABSTRACT

This chapter provides advice on how to determine which funding opportunities are the best fit for your project, and gives an overview of how to research funders and understand their priorities and review processes. It is important to develop a feasible project, as the funding climate is highly competitive, with many federal agencies funding only about 20% of proposals received. The competition is even greater for Humanities projects. The chapter ends with advice on connecting with the Program Officer in both the pre- and post-application phase.
