ABSTRACT

Once you have chosen the pattern you wish to draft, the first stage is to trace and separate the front and back of the completed female basic block (without waist darts). This same process should be followed for all of the pattern instructions in this book. Label each line as shown in the diagrams, but do not transfer the numbers from your original female basic block. Your pattern paper should be large enough for you to separate your female basic block pattern, 100cm × 90cm should be sufficient for sizes up to 106cm, sizes above 106cm will need paper 120cm × 100cm. You will require a larger piece of paper for the 1915 Deep Skirted Corset due to its longer length; 160cm × 90cm should be sufficient for sizes up to 106cm, sizes above 106cm will need paper 180cm × 100cm.
