ABSTRACT

We now come to a crucial step in the creative workflow. It has many names: in architecture, they call it a scale model; in music, a demo; in film, animatic; in game design, mockup; in web design, wireframe; in writing, an outline. The names are different, but the principle is always the same: before you go into the Production process of a major project, you must capture your vision of it. I call this capture the premake, and it’s the most important capture in the entire process (Figure 12.1).
