ABSTRACT
A live-action director I worked with briefly used to explain his ideas with little sketches. He was not a good draftsman and kept apologizing for it. The truth was, his captures—unattractive as they were—always made complete sense to me. They allowed me to understand exactly what he had envisioned, quickly and with almost no back-and-forth required.
