ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the next category of practices that may be adopted after grounding has been established: ones designed to build energy and vitality (brahmana). It provides the context in which these would be used: depressive disorders with melancholic features. The chapter guides the professional on how to begin slowly in order to meet the client where she is, and then gradually transition to practices that help the client build vitality and energy at her own pace. A variety of practices is provided so that the therapist may select what would be most appropriate for the client.
