ABSTRACT
The event will be attended by the academic community and tourism professionals, who will discuss the relations and intersections between tourism and culture. In this first edition, which took place on May 10 and 11, 2016, due to the Olympic year, the theme will especially address the effects of mega-venues on tourist flows, highlighting opportunities and challenges for Rio de Janeiro. In the seminar, the following thematic axes of the four working groups will be described as follows:
a. GT 1-Heritage, Hospitality and Tourism: WG 1 (Working Groups) aims to explore the issue of cultural heritage, considering the material and immaterial dimensions, as well as its relevance for the construction of cultural identities. It is still necessary to establish a bridge with the studies of hospitality, reflecting on its manifestations in the field of tourism.
